Magnificent Textile Art! Kuchi Embroidered Patchwork Bedspreads & Tapestries [color & size
choices above]: The Kuchi (which means “nomad” in the Dari language)
are tribespeople who travel between India, Pakistan and
Afghanistan, guiding their herds of sheep and camels to the sparse grazing
grounds scattered over rugged mountain terrain. The Kuchi are well known because
of their brightly woven and embroidered fabrics. You will
never find anything quite like their wonderful textiles..
They are available almost nowhere else in North America or
Europe! You will be thrilled with the artistry and vibrant colors when you open the
box. An amazing patchwork of vintage embroidered cotton pieces in a
array of
colors and designs. Many of the recycled, vintage patches are cut from women's blouses,
saris, head scarves, and shawls.
Our intent is to preserve traditional methods of hand weaving while providing a steady and fair income to the artisans. We acquire these fabulous, museum quality, hand embroidered Kuchi bedspreads & tapestries from Fair Trade partners in India and Pakistan.
