Magnificent Textile Art! Our intent is to preserve traditional methods of hand weaving while providing a steady and fair income to the artisans. We acquire these fabulous, museum quality, hand embroidered Kuchi bedspreads & tapestries from the Artisans Efforts Cooperative in India and partners in Pakistan, Habitat Integrated Pakistan [HIP], a member of the Asia Fair Trade Forum and the Fair Trade Federation . HIP is dedicated to sustainable development. One of HIP's programs is to promote the wonderful textiles made by gypsy women in Punjab, Pakistan. Habitat Integrated Pakistan provides training and financial assistance to help these women start small craft cooperatives. In Jan 2004, Habitat Integrated Pakistan became a member of the Fair Trade Federation and assists the women in exporting their crafts to the US and Europe.

choices above]: They originate in Kutch, Gujarat, India and in areas of Pakistan
bordering India. You will
never find anything quite like these wonderful textiles..
They are available almost nowhere else in North America or Europe! You will be thrilled with the artistry and vibrant colors when you open the
box. An amazing patchwork of vintage embroidered cotton pieces in a
array of
colors and designs. Many of the recycled, vintage patches are cut from women's blouses, head scarves, and shawls. The embroidery is delicate so hand wash and hang dry.
